AI Sweden is opening a new office in Skellefteå. It will allow AI Sweden to tie in the regional northern AI-ecosystems into the national realm and contribute to accelerating the use of AI in Sweden.

AI Sweden’s mission is to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence and to increase Swedish competitiveness in this area. AI Sweden consists of about 80 partners spread over a dozen nodes from Lund in the south to Luleå in the north. The partners include private companies, authorities, universities, and research institutes and together they run AI-related projects in various subject areas, such as health care, and climate change, and share knowledge and skills.

AI Sweden has already established offices in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Örebro, and southern Sweden. The inauguration of the office in Skellefteå took place on 2 December.

– It is the use of new technology that creates important societal changes, not the development. The work that AI Sweden does to accelerate the use of different types of AI technologies and solutions is therefore very important. The many nodes and the strong network of partners that are part of AI Sweden means that the whole country is covered and that we strenghten Sweden together, says Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn who also is a appointee of AI Sweden’s steering committee.
